A Modest Proposal
6/18--Though the economy is stable, it shows little to no sign of gaining any
more currency (unless of course someone does something stupid). Therefore I am issuing a motion for the creation of divisions
within the league. Players would be classified into different divisions (named after a collegiate basketball team) based
upon their individual records and performances. For example the Pittsburgh Panthers may consist of players with different
abilities, like Jared Davis, John Klimcsack, Ross Cohen, and David Baron. In the end, each team from a designated conference
(the Big East in this case) must accumulate the most amount of points in one month in order to receive "immunity"
from paying the monthly fee of $1.00. Not only would this bolster the economy, but it would also give players good incentive
to succeed in this league. The point system would be similar to one that is used in a fantasy league. For instance the point
system may be:
HR: 3 pts.
RBI: 1/2 pt.
Indiv. Win: 1 pt.
Indiv. Loss: -1/2 pt.
POW: 2 pts.
That certainly is not the official point system, it is just an example. An alternative
approach would be to keep the fantasy point system in, but not classify each player into a division. Rather, people can invest
in players' performances and earn points for their success. The person with the most points at the end of each
month would be exempt from the fee. Some of you may think these
ideas are ridiculous but I think it makes games more interesting. If you would like to give me any additional feedback
regarding this then email Charlzincharge23@comcast.net.
